The sidewalk was covered in glittering sugar masks. So, that’s that Raymond thought. The candy shop was closed. He reached through the broken glass and removed a wafer of light. Raymond noticed a drop of blood on his fingertip. He licked it off. There was still time to see the kangaroo rats and feed Milly one last jackfruit.
